Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, I originally trained in musical theatre and performing arts, deciding in the late nineties to move in a new direction after experiencing first hand the benefits of complementary therapies. With this desire to be involved in a more holistic and people centred environment, I initially retrained in reflexology followed by massage, reiki and pilates instruction.
To further complement these disciplines, I then studied acupuncture at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine gaining a BSc (Hons) degree and license to practice (LicAc). Thus allowing me to offer patients a more effective and integrated approach to each treatment.
I currently work with a wide range of conditions from acute to chronic aliments and have a particular interest in stress conditions as well as women's health, menopause, fertility and pregnancy. This has lead to further specialist training with some of the worlds leading practitioners including Jani White, Sarah Budd, Debra Betts and Naarva Carmen.
I am also trained in auricular (ear) acupuncture which can be used as a stand alone treatment to help support addictions such as smoking, drugs, alcohol and over eating, mental health issues and stress. Or combined with body acupuncture to support the body points.
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the UK's largest regulatory body for Traditional acupuncture practitioners and abide by their strict codes of practice and safety.
